Launch a program based on file extension script associates or launches an action to be performed by the os based on filename extension. This script associates or launches an action to be performed by the os based on filename extension. For example, assoc.py -e test.c will launch emacs. The optional extra_args allows you to add additional settings to the command associated with the file extension. More complicated actions may require Python functions instead of simple strings as dictionary values.

Windows 8 estimates: 500 million users in 2013

Microsoft expects to launch a new wave of optimism with Windows 8. In a recent statement, Steve Ballmer, chief executive at Microsoft, estimates that Windows 8 will reach a total of about 500 million users by the end of 2013.
